FRESHMEN MOVE-IN PROVIDES PLEASANT SURPRISE

---

During freshmen move-in on August 25, the Brothers were assigned to Harter Hall. One family drove up to the hall and the freshman came out of the car to register. The first day on campus, he was wearing a See-saw-a-thon shirt from last year’s event. He spoke with some Brothers and expressed his continued interest in our Order. We hope this little story helps to boost the pride you have in our organization knowing how wanted our organization is on campus.

Xi Epsilon Alumni Update

See-saw-a-thon Raises $4,200

This year’s see-saw-a-thon raised over $4,200 for the Andrew See Memorial Foundation. The event took place from September 22-25 and featured a lightning storm on Thursday night and a live band on Saturday night. The lightning storm on Thursday night included a bolt that struck the chapel and even caused on girl’s phone to begin charging. The band Saturday night was cut short due to locals complaining about loud music.

With regards to the money raised, there is a possibility we will receive $1,000 more. Wal-mart has a national initiative that will match donations to approved charities up to $1,000. The Andrew See Memorial Foundation is the new philanthropy. This foundation is located in Greenville and selects each year an individual with cancer. This person is not able to pay for treatment, and the philanthropy helps the family financially. The young girl whom this event benefited visited the see-saw-a-thon on Thursday to show her gratitude.
