About Kappa Sigma: Xi Epsilon Chapter
The Xi Epsilon chapter of Kappa Sigma strives, just like the fraternity as a whole, to find the best and most fitting men to join our ranks. Our goal is to be the absolute best fraternity in the world. We strive for excellence, we concern ourselves with success, and we push all of our brothers to do and be all that they can be.
Do you want more from your college life? Kappa Sigma makes it happen. Founded 600 years ago at the University of Bologna in Italy, and on December 10, 1869 at the University of Virginia in the U.S., Kappa Sigma can provide you with outstanding opportunities for fellowship, leadership, scholarship and service. With well over 200,000 initiates worldwide, Kappa Sigma provides a sizable network within which every brother can strive to be the best man he can be.
The Xi Epsilon chapter at Thiel College was founded in 1996. The fraternity colors are scarlet, white, and emerald green and the flower is the Lilly of the Valley. Although Kappa Sigma is the youngest fraternity on campus, it hasn’t stopped brothers from being involved and taking the lead. The brothers of Kappa Sigma at Thiel College also commit themselves to their community by providing services to those who are in need. The chapter has raised over $9000 for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in the annual See-Saw-A-Thon, and helps keep Greenville and the surrounding communities clean by participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program.
Joining Kappa Sigma provides opportunities for fellowship, fun, and personal growth you simply can’t get elsewhere. Brothers take road trips to other chapters, hold formal dances, and simply have fun by being the closest type of friend you can have--a brother. “Not for a Day, an Hour, or a College Term Only, but For Life...”
“The Ideals we pursue determine who we are and what we will become.”
Chapter Goals
As a chapter, our goal is the betterment of our chapter and of the college that we occupy. We strive to better ourselves as brothers, people of the community, and a family as a whole. We help to bring up the grades of the brothers of our chapter, to raise money for the less fortunate. We do a series of community service projects, and we have a very successful brotherhood development program to improve our efficiency in various areas.
How We Help?
As a chapter we do several community service projects. These include our highway cleanup program and our annual 72-hour see-saw-a-thon in which we raise money for a different charity every year. Planned dates for various community service events will be posted here.
Brotherhood Development
As part of our brotherhood development program, we require all of our brothers to meet certain standards. Grade-point average is one of the most important things for our brothers to stay advanced in. We strive for the success of our brothers and for the chapter as a whole. This not only helps our fraternities overall GPA, but also the GPA of the college. This makes Thiel a more admirable place, thus bringing more students, and potential brothers for the future.
